How to reach Victoria Memorial Kolkata
The Victoria Memorial is located at 1, Queens Way, Maidan, Kolkata, West Bengal 700071.
You will easily get a bus from popular spots like Esplanade, Sealdah Railway Station, Howrah Railway station, or Kolkata Airport.
If you are not getting any direct bus, you can take a bus to Exide or Rabindra Sadan and walk from there. Its a 5 min walk.
You can also book a Taxi or Cab from your hotel.
History of Victoria Memorial
The construction of the Victoria Memorial was suggested by Lord Curzon after the demise of Queen Victoria of England.
The foundation stone of this monument was laid on 4th January 1906 by the then Prince of Wales and was opened to the general public in 1921.
The total cost of construction of the Victoria Memorial was Rs.1,05,00,000.
