Shared jeeps and cabs are available from Darjeeling as well as from Siliguri.

Its located at a distance of about 28 km from Darjeeling.

Takdah Orchid Center is located at Rangli Rangliot Tea Garden, Darjeeling, and is a famous tourist location near Tinchuley.

Takdah Orchid Center is located at a height of 4,000 feet and is surrounded by the sweeping beauty of beautiful green tea farms that dominate the slopes and valleys here.

It is just 30 minutes away from Lamahatta.

History of Takdah Orchid Center

The Orchid center is rooted in the deep history of the British era. The troops of British soldiers who were supposed to fight during World war 1 used to gather here.

Historical evidence reveals that Takdah was home to the second battalion of British soldiers.

Presently the Forest Department of the West Bengal Government maintains this remarkable orchid center.

The Takdah orchid center is one of the most appealing destinations in North Bengal. It was once the largest Orchid center in Asia.
